I want to share with you a resource that has been a great inspiration in my journey to create materials on the growth mindset approach! It all started several years ago with my own limiting beliefs—those thoughts that whisper in our ears that things are difficult, impossible, or that opportunities are gone.

For years, these false ideas were part of my belief system. Even though I was convinced I had to fight against them, I realized my mission went beyond that: I needed to pass this struggle on to my students so they could think differently.

I don't know how I became obsessed with the topic, but I read many books on how it could be implemented in my life and in my students' lives. I thought to myself, if as an adult I find that the strength and solution to many things lie in the mindset, why not share it with my students? They benefit, and I benefit too.

So, I started designing one resource after another, which has brought me great experiences.

I realized that, even though I had to work on my own personal power, my words could be the key for others—my students—to overcome their own limitations. That's when I discovered the concept of Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset.

This discovery was a real turning point. So I set out to design a simple yet powerful tool: the Growth Mindset Self Reflection Chart English & Spanish. And here’s the best part: it's available for free in both English and Spanish!

This tool, despite its simplicity, has a deep impact. It helps students explore their strengths, identify areas for growth, and set meaningful goals, all while fostering a positive mindset, which is crucial for transforming their academic path.

As teachers, we know how much self-awareness can influence our students’ success. Integrating this resource into the classroom provides valuable insight into their beliefs and self-perceptions. This understanding allows us to adapt our support strategies more effectively, focusing on each student's unique strengths and areas for improvement.

But it’s not just about supporting students; it’s also about strengthening our connection with them. When students feel understood and supported, they are more likely to engage and excel. The Growth Mindset Self-Assessment fosters a collaborative environment, promoting a relationship of partnership and mutual respect.

This bilingual activity is ideal for dual-language and bilingual classrooms, ensuring every student can benefit from this reflective practice. I hope you find this tool as valuable as I do and that it inspires you to continue supporting your students on their journey toward personal and academic growth!
